T-Squad is in the Dominican Republic!

We arrived in the Dominican Republic on the 30thof January. We will serve here with Mission of Hope five weeks and then go to another location in the DR. What does serving with Mission of Hope look like you ask? And what is Mission of Hope? I’m so glad you asked 🙂

As an organization following Jesus Christ, Mission of Hope exists to bring life transformation to every man, woman, and child. With campuses in the Caribbean, they partner with local churches to transform lives through church advancement, nutrition, education, and medical care. They do this in the following five ways:

  • Connecting People to Jesus: Repeatedly sharing the Gospel message in targeted geographies.
  • Empowering Local Leaders: Strategically developing national leaders to carry the vision to their nation.
  • Serving People Holistically: Continuously striving to meet the physical, mental, social and spiritual needs of every man, woman, and child.
  • Engaging People Relationally: Intentionally modeling Christ’s love through relationships.
  • Stewarding with Excellence: Responsibly utilizing all resources and talents to their fullest potential for God’s glory.

Check out this video of their ministry in the Caribbean! https://youtu.be/8FGv3Q40NNE

What does all this look like in practice and for T-Squad specifically?

Well, it looks like macheting:

It looks like painting:

It looks like visiting  and praying with locals: (Pictured: Mac, Fara, Alexandra, McKayla, Laura, Jolene, Rosita, Megan, and Rachel)

It looks like worshipping:

We do all these things to glorify God and to support the local church. T-Squad is not the hero here. Mission of Hope isn’t even really the hero either (even though the people who work here are super amazing and I am inspired by them). We are all partners to what God is already doing through the local church and supporting them with whatever they need help with. We machete, so that when people come to visit they see open spaces of opportunity and growth. We paint in order to unify the campus in Haiti with the campus in the DR. We meet and pray with people in order to build relationship. Our job is to love and to know and to pursue relationship with every man, woman, and child here. It is our honor to do so. We are learning so much, and it is a beautiful time.

Please keep us in your prayers.

  • Pray for wisdom that we grow in truly knowing who God is and who we are in him
  • Pray for discernment in hearing God’s voice and walking in obedience
  • Pray for trust, vulnerability, and growth as we pursue relationship with our teammates
  • Pray for courage as God grows and prunes us to bear more fruit of the Spirit
  • Pray for peace in Haiti
  • Pray for unity between Haitian and Dominican believers
  • Pray for our hosts at Mission of Hope, for their faith, for their high spirits, for their peace, and for their endurance. God bless them

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers! We love you so much and think of you often!!
