Hello everyone! My name is Laura Lowry. Welcome to my blog! I am so glad you’re here.

So, Why the World Race?

In the summer of 2017, while interning with 6:8 Ministries in Costa Rica, I met Emily. Emily, who truly has a servant’s heart for the Lord and also happens to be a super talented photographer, came down with her church to serve with 6:8 Ministries for a week. I remember when we were riding a public bus in Alajuelita, and she starting telling me about a mission trip she went on called the World Race. She shared stories with me about her time in the different countries that she traveled to throughout her 11 months on the race. I was so intrigued. It sounded like such an incredible experience. I prayed that one day I would have the opportunity to go on the World Race.

Since then the World Race has always been a dream of mine. Something I longed for and wondered if I would ever get the chance to go.

Until now.

After years and years of prayer, patience, and preparation, I can finally say that I’ll be embarking on the journey of a lifetime. In just a few short months, I will be sent to the nations to serve God as a global missionary. Wow!!! I can’t believe I’m even saying that! Global missions has been a deep longing of mine ever since my numerous trips to Costa Rica. My heart has never been as full as it is when I am serving in the field as the hands and feet of Jesus.

The World Race is an 11 month mission trip where I will be going to 6 different countries to share the love of Jesus and serve alongside ministry partners already in country. The countries I will be traveling to are the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Romania, Albania, Eswatini, and South Africa. Ministry will look different in each country. We will serve in a variety of ways based off of the needs of the community we will be in and the ministry we will be working with. These ministry opportunities include discipleship, church planting, community development, church activation, children’s ministry, sports ministry, and community outreach.

Guatemala has one of the highest rates of child malnutrition in the world. The Adventures in Missions base combats these struggles through community development. They serve the locals by meeting their physical needs by providing supplies such as water filters and stovetop installations. This opens the door for relationships and discipleship, which can ultimately lead to sending Guatemalans out to other communities and nations to spread the Gospel.

Will you partner with me? I am asking for prayer warriors to come alongside me on this journey to pray for me, for my squad, and for the people we will encounter.

It has been a long time of waiting and preparing, and I’m so incredibly grateful that the time has come to go on this next crazy and amazing adventure God has for me. I’m praying this journey can bring so many people closer to God including myself. I pray I will seek first the Kingdom of God for the rest of my life.

All my love,
Laura
